Darimar's weekly Thought:

And whenever God wakes in us, our thinking becomes clear-nothing is missing

   St.Thomas Aquinas

The Universe is not limited. It is Abundant, lavish, extravagant. Nothing can be taken from, nor added to, It.

                  More than enough

A friend of mine has a wonderful spiritual practice. Every now and then, as she is enjoying herself with something simple-for example, sitting with a friend and sipping her favorite coffee drink-she will say to herself, In this moment.... That is her shorthand for saying, I am totally happy now. So simple, yet so powerful! My friend knows that when we are totally present in and mindful of the moment, something within us instinctively recognizes and responds to the absolute completeness that exists within that moment. As St. Thomas said, nothing is missing. Interestingly, as I have learned, the realization is not an intellectual acknowledgement; it is simply a deep feeling, an intuitive knowing witihout the need to analyze.

I think the feeling that we need something more is grounded in the habit of projecting our thoughts into the future, hypothesizing about what the future shall be or should be. We fail to be present with what is now. Buddhists call the practice of being present in the moment mindfulness. Whatever you call it, it is a way to experience God's Lavish presence filling all nooks and crannies of our world-and it is always more than enough.

Affirmation

Today, I will be mindful of the flow of creation, allowing myself to drink deeply of the fullness of the universe. In joy and gratitude I shall say to myself, In this moment.
